In Spain, 90-95% of fetuses diagnosed with down syndrome are aborted.

Miguel attends one of the learning centers designed to equip children and adults with down syndrome with the skills they need in order to live autonomously. With the help of these centers, people like Miguel can realistically aspire to become writers, singers, designers, painters, teachers, volunteers, or one of the many other professions.
While these centers have drastically improved the quality of life of the people with down syndrome, budget cuts threaten to derail this progress.Miguel is just one of the many that have benefitted from these programs, and also one of many that will be hurt should they disappear.
